The Moultrie Creek Online Historical Society is a fictional association used to show how historical societies, genealogical societies, family or veteran associations and others can take advantage of free and low cost online services to support their association.
This site is built using a free site hosted at WordPress.com. WordPress is a simple, but elegant, content management system that combines static Web pages with a blog and provides additional functionality for incorporating content from outside sources such as photos from Flickr or movies from YouTube. This site will provide examples and show how to take advantage of these tools to support your membership - and even attract new members.
Our goal is to make this site a collaborative resource center for associations and groups. We encourage anyone with ideas or experiences to share by commenting or becoming an author at MCOHS. If you’re already a society blogger, let us know about your site so we can include it in the blogroll. No one person has all the answers so the more people who get involved, the better.
